John

1. I am thankful for the protection the Lord has provided our immediate families. A number of us are essential workers on the front lines and He has been steadfast in care for us.

2. I am thankful to be a citizen of Canada with an excellent health care system that strives to help all Canadians.

3. I am thankful that the Lord has provided men and women with the skills and knowledge to develop the vaccines to protect us and care for those who are ill.

Colleen:

1. I am thankful that despite not being able to meet in person to worship due to the pandemic that technology exists that allows us all to meet virtually.

2. As a frontline healthcare worker I am thankful that God has blessed me with a husband who stands with me during the uncertain ongoing changes brought on by the Pandemic in the healthcare system..

3. I am thankful that God's timing is perfect. It does two things: It grows our faith as we are forced to wait and trust in God and it makes certain that He, and He alone, gets the glory and praise for pulling us through. "My times are in Your hands ..." Psalm 31:15.

A prayer of gratitude:

Gratitude! So much to be thankful for ... where does one begin? I am grateful for the gift of salvation so full and so free. I’m also very grateful for how God has been so faithful each day in helping me adjust to life without Willie. I’m thankful for the prayers, encouragement, and help of family and so many friends. God is so good!

Camp Nutimik prayer update

Update from Camp Nutimik: As of noon today, Camp Nutimik has NOT needed to evacuate, and everyone is safe!

The report that was just posted states that the fire is showing signs of cooling with six crews working on the fire today. PTH 307 will remain closed for today with ongoing re-assessment based on fire activity.

The wind has died down significantly since yesterday and there is significant rain in the forecast, pray that the rain would come without lightning. Also continue to pray for the crews that are working so hard at the fire site (as well as all those other crews working hard to keep control over fires burning all over the province).

Camp Nutimik - URGENT

A new forest fire started up earlier today in the Whiteshell which has escalated and it's status is currently not under control.

Parks officials have just visted us on site and notified us that we are on standby to evacuate. People who are located closer to Seven Sisters are already evacuating.

Currently we have three people on site. One of our association pastors who is there on a retreat and Geoff & Angela Lott- our on site staff.

Please pray:

- that the wind would die down as it is encouraging fire growth and pushing it further into the Whiteshell.

- that the the crews would be able to get the fire under control and for the rain to come quickly.

- for the crews who are battling the fire

- for residence and cottagers/visitors in the area

- for Park Patrol as they are working through the area to ensure people are safe...

- for Geoff & Angela as they work quickly to get things in order and prepare for evacuation.

- If/when we need to evacuate camp property, that everyone would be able to get out quickly and safely.

- that the camp property and buildings would be spared.

Lyndell Campbell-Requia

Hello Everyone,

Thank you for the many words and prayers for comfort and strength at this time.

My family is being carried by the Lord.

God is answering prayer:

-the translation of my positive Covid-19 test from March 11th is in my hands!

-I was able to get the pre-flight Covid test done today and will have the results by noon tomorrow.

-Our missionary travel agency found me a way home - it will take an extra day, so I will be spending lots of quality time in 3 airports. I will even have a stopover in Panama City!

-I have my ArriveCAN document ready to go for when I reach immigration in Toronto.

I was not able to apply for the compassionate care temporary exemption because there will be no funeral. A memorial will be held at a later day.

My Mom's sister and her husband have arrived to stay with my Mom until I arrive.

Once again, thank you so much for all your prayers!

Blessings,

Lyndell

Update on my Father - May 11th

With profound sadness in my heart I let you know that the Lord thought best to allow my father to pass away during the night. He is free of all pain and suffering. Those of us left behind grieve deeply for his passing, but not as ones who have no hope, for we know that we shall see my father once again.

Please pray for my mom, Marg, my sister, Janelle, my brother-in-law, Ryan, my niece, Nicole, my nephew, Matthew, and my husband, Paulo and me.

I will be traveling to Canada as soon as possible. Unfortunately, because of restrictions, Paulo is unable to go with me. Because I had Covid-19 in the last 2 months, I am exempt from the 3-day hospital stay and Covid test upon arrival. Because I am traveling for a funeral, pray I receive exemption from the 14-day quarantine.

Please pray for all the details that need to be worked out here:

-I am waiting to get my Covid-19 exam results translated into English, pray they can do it today.

-It would be good if I could get power-of-attorney for the treasurer of the mission before I leave.

-Clarity of thought as I pack in a hurry.

Thank you for lifting us up in prayer at this difficult time.

Dear church family,

Please, please pray for my brother in-law Roman who’s on dialysis and has developed shingles. There are also symptoms he may have had a stroke.

Please pray that he won’t contract COVID while being hospitalized. My brother in-law has had a struggle with cancer as well as kidney failure.

Bogdan and I are asking for prayers that the Lord will comfort Roman for he has gone through so much already.

Please pray that the Lord will bless him with His peace and love during this new struggle.

Please also pray for my dear sister Maria for the Lord to give her strength to deal with this.

They both love the Lord and have served Him faithfully.

Gary Schellenberg

From Gary Schellenberg

In February I presented one of our foreign workers who I named Priscilla. Priscilla ministers in a country hostile to the Gospel, therefor, I am not using her real name. I do have permission to share some of her praise and prayer items so you can pray for her.

Priscilla gives thanks that she is meeting with ladies from her neighborhood and is able to share what she believes. She is studying less and this gives her free time to go out and meet new people.

Priscilla asks for prayer during this time of Ramadan as she meets with a certain family that she has developed a relationship with. She also asks that you remember her in prayer during this month of fasting and seeking God, that her friends would want to know Him and that He would reveal Himself to them.

If you would like to follow Priscilla via her news letter, let me know and I can add you to her list. Thanks for praying.

A quick update on my Dad. He had some tests done in the last week and a half because of the pain he was experiencing in his side. Thankfully, nothing is leaking from where they reconstructed his bile duct. He is also in less pain and feeling stronger. He was even driving for the first time a few days ago and was able to get his first Covid vaccine!

Today he has his first appointment at the cancer hospital. They are going to talk about the tests he had done and do an evaluation. It is also possible they will give him some options for further treatment. Please pray for this appointment, for wisdom for those taking care of Dad, that his test results show everything is normal, and for discernment for Mom and Dad as they look at next steps.

Once again, we as a family are so grateful for your on-going prayers!

Paulo and I are almost 100% recovered from Covid. We still feel more tired than usual, but nothing too extreme. I am still getting my sense of smell and taste back - I am at about 40% at this point. I am also experiencing hair loss (beyond the usual), however I'm told this is only temporary.

Blessings,

Lyndell

Please pray for John as he is isolated in his room due to two of the Meadowood staff having contracted Covid. Ada is concerned for his mental health as he has been experiencing dreams/hallucinations and finding it hard to know what is real or not.

His oxygen levels are currently low and this is being addressed.

The doctor will be seeing him tomorrow and will be preforming tests.

Till this past Wed, Ada was able to see John twice a day. Please pray for her as she waits to be able to see John again.

Hello Everyone,

The pain in Dad's side has never gone away, so his surgeon decided to have him do 3 exames to take a closer look. He was able to do all three and tomorrow morning he has an appointment with the surgeon to get his results.

Please pray that the pain is nothing serious and that everything is healing up well from the surgery. On Monday, the Cross Cancer Hospital will be getting in touch to set up an appointment.

I am hoping that I will be able to spend a couple of weeks visiting my family in Canada in July. Everything will depend on if borders are closed or not and if Canada will still be detaining international travelers on arrival.

Thank you so much for journeying with our family through this challenging time through your prayers! We are so grateful!

Blessings,

Lyndell

Bergmann Family

Church family,

There may be some who have not yet heard that, this past Sunday afternoon, Henry Bergmann went home to be with Jesus in glory.

Henry and Susan attended Whyte Ridge Baptist Church for years and were dearly loved by all. We will remember Henry for the many ways that his life evidenced his genuine love for Jesus Christ. In particular, Henry was known for his welcoming presence toward anyone who walked through the doors of our church, for his generosity in showing the love of Christ to everyone he encountered, for his genuine joy in worshipping Jesus, and for the gracious words of encouragement that he was always quick to offer.

A private memorial service is planned at Friends Funeral Service on Saturday, March 27 at 2:00 pm. The service will be live-streamed and can be viewed at https://www.friendsfs.ca/livestreaming.

Let us continue to keep Susan and all of their family in our prayers during this time.

We are so grateful for your prayers! We are doing much better and are slowly getting back to work and ministry. I imagine it will take a bit more time to fully recover, but each day we feel a bit stronger.

My Dad met with a nurse from the cancer hospital and they have decided he still needs 2 weeks at home to recover from his surgery. He has been losing weight and has no appetite. Please pray he can maintain his current weight and eat more. He also still has quite a bit of pain on his right side where his incision is which makes it difficult to sleep. We are hopeful that he starts feeling stronger and stronger in the days to come so he can start the next phase of his treatment.

Thank you so much for your prayers! God is healing us day by.

Today my parents and sister met virtually with Dad's surgeon. The surgeon is happy with Dad's recovery progress and even though Dad is still feeling very weak, that is to be expected.

We found out that Dad has bile duct cancer. It is an aggressive cancer, so that means he will need chemotherapy. The next step is making an appointment with the cancer hospital. Please pray that they are able to get an appointment as soon as possible, as this is something that should not be put off.

As for Paulo and I, we are doing better! Paulo is having a good day. I started the day struggling, but am feeling better tonight. Thank you once again for your fervent prayers
