The Gospel of Mark

From Series: "The Gospel of Mark"

“Who do you say I am?” During Jesus’ earthly ministry this is the most important question He ever asked His disciples, and it forms the thematic centerpiece of Mark’s gospel (Mk. 8:29). The Apostle Peter answered by saying, “You are the Christ, the Son of the Living God” (Mt. 16:16). This question still remains to be answered by Jesus’ followers today. This expository series follows the narrative of Mark’s gospel chapter by chapter written from the perspective Peter’s ‘son in the faith’ (I Peter 5:13) who not only shadowed Peter in his later years, but is also said to be his ‘interpreter’. It is the gospel of action, describing Jesus’ travels and the many personal encounters He had with individuals along the way. Mark wrote with the hope that his readers would also have a personal encounter with Christ.
