Prayer Ministry:

Camp Nutimik Prayer Requests:

  • WRBC young adults working at camp this summer: Christina Cooper, Assistant Program Directory; Sammy Cooper, Guy’s Unit Leader.
  • Daniel Kilmartin, Support Team Leader did some damage to his knee and has been somewhat hampered in his duties. Pray for recovery for his knee.
  • Although Peter Bergs is back to full-time work, he still has some issues with fatigue and so we would appreciate prayer for him.

Building Project Prayer Requests:

  • Steinbach Credit Union has approved our request for financing in support of our building project. Praise God for this positive result, which is another major step towards our goal.
  • Letters have been sent to four local congregations who had previously expressed an interest in purchasing our current property. We expect to receive their proposals over the summer and make decisions on this in the fall. As this process unfolds, please pray for positive outcomes that will be God-honouring.

This and That:

Thank you very much for all the expressions of sympathy, support and encouragement received following my dad’s passing on June 11, 2017.  Your emails, cards, attendance at the funeral service, and other expressions of support were humbling, honouring, overwhelming and very much appreciated.  Special thanks to Pastor Kevin Klassen for his help with both the pre-recording and playing at the service of some special music.  Last week was definitely the most physically, mentally and emotionally draining week of my life.  Your support, thoughts and prayers definitely powered me through that week.  I wish many blessings and much love upon all of you. With very best regards, Norm Piel.

On behalf of the Meadowood Manor Foundation Board of Directors, a heartfelt thank you to those who graciously supported the Meadowood Manor Annual Fundraising dinner held on May 25. Together we raised $23,670.00; the proceeds will be designated 50% to the Chaplaincy and 50% to special projects.  These funds enhance the lives of Meadowood Manor’s residents, tenants, their families & friends, and staff.

Jesus calls his followers to be salt and light to the world (Matthew 5:13-16). We seek to live as His faithful servants and be agents of His transforming presence in our society and the world. Evangelicals engage in all areas of life as part of our witness, and we want to be obedient to God in the pursuit of justice and care for the vulnerable.   One of the ways we do this is to learn about key issues facing our culture, and think through how biblical principles apply in these areas.  A way to do so is to join the Evangelical Fellowship of Canada‘s email list or to browse through their resource database containing hundreds of topics online.
