Yesterday, we saw the oncologist regarding Tim's recent declining health and got the results of the CT scan and bloodwork done in the past 10 days. The news is not great. Unfortunately, the pancreas shows another tumour which is growing rapidly. It is currently 5 cm in size. We were presented with the following options:
1. Do nothing except manage pain, nausea and fatigue. The average lifespan for this option is approximately 5 months.
2. Start another chemotherapy regimen. This would be done weekly, 3 weeks out of 4. The objective is to slow the cancer growth and ease the symptoms. If successful, this would buy us roughly a year. We have chosen to try the chemotherapy and it could start as early as next week.
Please pray for us as we learn to live while dying, grieve while giving thanks.

Thank you to all the prayer warriors who have been praying for my wife, Heather. We get the notices when someone has prayed and this means so much. I wish I could give a praise report as to a healing, however, God is using this time for us to learn more to lean on Him. We have spent many days going to specialists and testing so far, with more coming up on Wednesday. So far, we are no closer to finding out what is causing these issues but remain faithful. We are so appreciative of you all. I do apologize for not sending this sooner, please accept this apology and continue praying. Thanks

Thank you for praying for me re:
Insomnia and a new doctor
I have found a new doctor.
Trusting that she and my specialists are able to understand my conditions and treat appropriately.
I am very suspicious of heart failure. However, it’s very treatable and I believe God will work this out too.
Receiving attention from a homecare nurse once/week
She is contacting my new doctor
regarding compromised circulation in my lower legs
I need compression stockings
May God continue to bless you all as together we trust Him for abundant life.

Our best friends son-in-law had a tumble off his mountain bike last night. He has completely fractured his T8 of his vertebrae and has multiple ribs fractures, torn all the ligaments between everything and the broken parts are pressing on his spine but it doesn't look like there's any actual spinal cord damage. He is currently in the OR (Saturday August 15).
Please pray for wisdom for the doctors, strength for the family and speedy recovery

Submitted on behalf of a concerned church family member:
Subject: Urgent Prayer Request for Christians in Mauritania
Dear brothers and sisters,
We urgently ask for your prayers for the church in Mauritania.
Today, Friday, groups of Muslims in several cities in Mauritania organized demonstrations demanding the arrest of Mauritanian Christians and the execution of those they consider “apostates from Islam.”
Please pray for:
1. The protection of all believers and their families from any harm.
2. God to grant them peace and steadfastness in the midst of these threats.
3. The Lord’s intervention to stop incitement and violence, and for justice and peace to prevail.
Thank you for your continuous prayers and support.
May the Lord bless and protect you.

I would like to thank you my church family for all your prayers this past few weeks. Tests done so far show that everything is normal even though there were signs of pulmonary edema I have been referred to a cardiologist and for a eco-cardiogram.
I am feeling much better but appreciate continued prayers as I await these upcoming tests.

Please continue to pray for a Andrew:
He just had his follow up with the ENT. The infection hasn’t cleared after 1 week on the antibiotic. There’s also fluid blocked behind where the nose canal and ear connect. She thinks it’s because of allergies here that his nose has been inflamed so the fluid can’t drain which caused the infection. It wasn’t possible to confirm the perforation because of the inflammation. She said that the flights are going to be very painful because of the infection/inflammation. He will be continuing the antibiotics for another week and starting a different antihistamine and nose spray. He is pretty discouraged.
Also, if things don’t improve in 2 weeks he’s supposed to see a doctor again which is super complicated with their move. There is the possibility of surgery needed if the medication doesn’t work.

This past week while Ashley and I were out at Clear Lake I became quite ill! I began to have difficulty breathing and suffered with nausea and no energy. Darby and Lindsay came out on Thursday to pick us up (someone had to drive my vehicle back) once back in the city I went to a walkin clinic followed by blood work and an X-ray with medication my breathing has improved but I’m still not feeling great.
Please pray that I would hear back with results from the tests and that my energy would improve.

Please pray for my brother Andrew Friesen:
He’s been in a bad flare up (due to his autoimmune disease) for over 3 weeks now. It’s probably the longest stretch he’s had since going on the biologic. The pain, stiffness & weakness has moved throughout his back, neck & shoulders. He’s also been battling an URI and ear infection. He’s praying that his ear drum isn’t perforated from the inflammation. He and his family are flying to Chicago on the 24th and are in the midst of packing and moving things. It’s really bad timing but that’s how this disease seems to work. Please pray for healing and strength as they pack to move to Chicago.

This note is for those of you who have been keeping Ramona in prayer for the healing of her eye. Thank you!
This week we met with the surgeon, supposing it might be our last appointment with him, as Ramona's vision has ended fairly good after the surgeries. We anticipated that the book might be closed on this saga.
The surgeon noticed an issue with the retina "bunching up" (imagine a tablecloth not laying flat on a table), and has Ramona booked for another surgery in two days when he will attempt to rectify this.
Ramona is discouraged as it will be at least two months before we expect to know if there will be success. If this surgery does not fix the problem, he anticipates requiring further surgeries.
Ramona knows that all this is in God's hands, and we appreciate your prayers for a successful surgery and recovery. May God be glorified in this.
