Wow, the last days of school are here! I'm sure your kids are excited for summer. Our family loves camping together and our favorite food to make while camping is campfire nachos! They are a little bit messy (and sometimes a little burnt), but we love making memories together and talking and laughing around the firepit is one of my favorite memories. I'd love to hear what you are up to this summer!
Summer Programming Update: July 5 to September 6
THIS SUNDAY is our LAST week of regular programming. Starting on Sunday, July 5th, we move to our Summer Programming Schedule.
Our leaders in our Children's Ministry dedicate so much of their time and energy over the ministry year - often volunteering every other week! So we give our team a much needed break over the summer months so they can spend time with family and friends over the summer and attend church and it also gives us time and space to begin our preparation for Fall programming as well. Please thank our wonderful team for their dedication and care that they bring each week for your children. We LOVE serving our church community and we LOVE teaching God's word to your kids.
That being said, we also have some changes to our worship services over the summer. This is a great opportunity for your kids to experience "Big Church" with you this summer and we aim to make our services as family friendly as possible!
Nursery - Open (10:30am)
Preschool & Kindergarten class (age 3-6) open with an adjusted check in time - see info below!
Grades 1-4 - No programming July 5th to September 6th. Program resumes September 13th.
Grades 5-6 - The Wave - No Programming July 5th to September 6th. Program resumes September 13th.
Kids Craft Cart:
Weekly activity pages and coloring sheets with clip boards and crayons are available on the Kids Craft Carts in the auditorium located by the 2 main entrances.
For Nursery and Preschoolers:
Our Kids Check-in Team will open up 10 minutes prior to the service and the Nursery will also be open then. Preschoolers (age 3-6) will remain sitting with their parents for the start of the service for opening Worship time and the Kids Ministry Minute (children's message).
After the children's message, preschoolers are dismissed to their program. Parents must accompany their children and check them into the class.
Parents are welcome to and encouraged to check-in their preschoolers early before the service and get their child's name tag before the service starts so that when they are dismissed from the service, it speeds up drop off!
Kids Ministry Minute (Children's Message):
Before the sermon begins, Kids of all ages (parents too) will be invited to come forward to hear the Children's Message. Please sit in the first row of chairs or on the floor on the right side of the stage to hear the message. Camp WRBC is back this summer and our Kids Ministry Minute will often feature our friend Gilbert the Goose or activities that will be helping us learn our Big Idea for the morning! After the Kids Ministry Minute, preschoolers are dismissed with their parents to go check in for their class time and big kids can go sit with their parents.

Lesson 11.5 - Breakfast with Jesus (John 21:1-19)
What’s better than breakfast? Breakfast with Jesus! Last weekend, preschoolers will hear how Jesus made breakfast for His friends and helped them fish again. They’ll learn the Big Idea: God gives me helpers. I’m a helper too!
Dinnertime Question/Activity: Work together to make breakfast or set the table and thank God for helpers. Ask: How can you be a helper today?
Elementary Grade 2-6
Lesson 12.4 - The Book of James: Taming the Tongue (James 3; 1 Samuel 25)
Even though our words may seem small, they have BIG impact! Kids will learn how God helps us tame our tongue and use our words to encourage, build up, and show kindness to others. God calls us to honor Him by being kind with our words.
DINNERTIME QUESTION: Words can do a lot of damage, but they can also do a lot of good. How can you use your words this week to encourage and build someone up?
