Kids at the Ridge Weekly: May 10

Hi Kids at the Ridge Friends!

Wow, we had another special Sunday service this week – honoring our mothers but also honoring all the Godly women who God has placed in our lives who love us.  Whether you are a mom or mothering others who aren’t your own, we thank you and we love you.  Whether you’ve lost your mom, had a hard relationship with your mom or struggle with loss or infertility, we love you too. We are praying for you. I hope you know that you are loved by our Heavenly Father and you are His child.  3 John 1:4 says ” I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth.”  Thank you for all you do to share your faith in Jesus with your kids and with those around you.

Special Note: We are in desperate need of Small group leaders for our Kids VBS summer camp this July 20-24. With many of our regular leaders either serving or attending Camp Nutimik the same week, we are short on staff. Please prayerfully consider how you might be able to help us this summer – and reach out to your circles!

This week in Children’s Ministry:

Instructions: Bookmark the YouTube Playlist links below for each group. Each week we will release the latest video for a special “At Home” session.  This is a great follow up to our lesson from Sunday that kids can watch on their own… BUT this is also a fun way to engage with your kids!  Just watch and follow the instructions in the video :)   I’ve also provided a dinnertime question for you to use this week!
I’d love to hear how your dinnertime questions are going and be able to share some answers (can be annonymous) in the weekly emails!  Or share a God moment you have had this week – let’s encourage one another!

Lesson 10.4: Peter and the Prison Break

Can prayer open doors? It sure can! We learned how God answered the church’s prayers and helped Peter escape from prison.

BIG IDEA:  I can pray to Jesus anytime anywhere, about anything!

BIBLE BASIS:  Acts 12:1-19

KEY VERSE:  “Never stop praying.” 1 Thessalonians 5:17 (NIrV)

Dinnertime Questions: When do you like to talk to Jesus? Where is your favorite place to pray?

Lesson 10.4 – Paul is Arrested

Not even jail could stop Paul from telling his story of hope through Jesus.

BIBLE BASIS: Acts 21-28

BIG IDEA: The Good News of Jesus sets us free from sin, so we can tell our story to others.

WEEKLY VERSE: “Let those who have been set free by the Lord tell their story.” Psalm 107:2 (NIrV)

DINNERTIME QUESTION: Parents – share how you came to know and follow Jesus with your kids!  Ask them: Who do we know that doesn’t follow Jesus? What could we do to share Jesus with them?

May Scripture Memory Verse

Memorizing scripture is so important!  We have a key verse each month for kids to learn. If they can recite it to me or their classroom leader, they can earn a special prize!  Bonus treats given if they memorize the weekly verse too!

Preschool to Grade 1 Memory Verse:

Elementary Grade 2-4 Memory Verse:

Blessings to you this week!
